So I have been working on all kinds of stuff as of late. I even got a hold of a mac in order to test the performance of Unity3D on the iPhone.
Also I was secretly working on an update to for Super Ninja Skydiving Plus Zombies to use the Android Licensing system. But now that Air 3.0 is coming out in October (which directly supports the Licensing System) all that work has been for nothing.
The new update for Android will fix a few issues that some people have been having. Apparently the news/update window that comes up when the game launches sometimes gives a black screen when internet is slow and sometimes when unavailable. I wish I would have known about this issue sooner but it will be fixed in the update that will come out shortly after Air 3.0 hits the android market place.
Also a free web version of the game will be coming out very soon. I’ve decided to do this for a few reasons. The main one being money is very tight right now. I’m trying hard to find a way to make this game profitable as well as throw out constant free updates. An online scoreboard being one of them. Because the piracy rate was so high I have not even come close to breaking even on the game. So I have submitted the game to flashgamelicense.com. Hopefully the game will be able to grab the eye of a few sponsors there and I will be able to fund working on the mobile versions.
The iPhone version will hopefully still come but it seems there’s quite a few hurdles to jump over before that will get done.
Hopefully having a free web version will get me a bit more exposure and maybe even lead to some other sources of income. In an ideal world I would just like to make games for free and get as many people playing them as possible. But unfortunately money at this point in my life is a pretty big driving factor. That being said money isn’t everything. I have no problem with living an average life as long as I love my work and get to spend enough time with my family.
On that note its 3am and I have to get up for work in 5 hours. By the way the picture on the right is my daughter Tatianna, who will be 1 year old in less than a month! Where has the time gone?
